# Positions and sells

Review positions, sell part or all of a token, and manage exit rules.

**Positions** is where you review tokens bought through your trading wallet. Open **Copytrade → Positions** or send `/positions`.

Each position shows available token quantity, cost basis and estimated value when pricing is available. Market prices can change before a trade completes.

## Choose your action

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Sell part" %}

1. Open **Positions** and select the token.
2. Choose **Sell**, then a percentage or custom amount.
3. Review the quote and fees before confirming.
4. Check the final settlement notice and your remaining balance.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Sell all" %}

1. Open the relevant sell controls.
2. Select **Sell All** if you want to sell your open positions.
3. Read the confirmation carefully. This action is separate from stopping a copy.
4. Confirm the final result in Telegram and your wallet.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Write off" %}
If a position cannot be traded, the bot may offer **Write off**. This removes its value from your tracked ledger and records a loss. **It does not sell tokens or return SOL to your wallet.**
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## Pause versus stop versus sell

| Action               | What happens                                                         |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pause a copy** | Stops selected copy activity until resumed |
| **Stop copying** | Stops new copied buys and Copy sells; existing positions remain open |
| **Sell** | Attempts an actual sale of the chosen tokens |
| **Pause everything** | May also disable take-profit and stop-loss protection                |

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Stop copying does not sell your open positions.** Check their remaining exit rules and manage them from Positions. A submitted sell is not complete until it settles.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://callgraph.gitbook.io/callgraph-docs/trading/positions-and-sells.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
